Fat Loss Friendly, Fast Breakfast Ideas
Most of us wake up in the morning and are instantly in a rush. We need to get ready for work, get the kids ready for school, feed the family and maybe get some food in us on the way out the door. Because of this it can be tough coming up with fat loss friendly, fast breakfast ideas we can simply “grab and go”.
One option is to simply skip breakfast and have your first meal later in the day. This is known as intermittent fasting and can work well for some people. If that’s you, these quick meal ideas can still work at any other time of the day when you’re pressed for time. Since breakfast always seems to be a tight time, I’ve put together 6 “fat loss friendly”, fast breakfast ideas that take 6 minutes or less to make. And most of them are portable so you can take them with you on the go.
1. Microwave Ham, Mushroom & Egg Mug
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 cup Diced Ham & Mushrooms
- Sea Salt/Pepper
Add eggs, mushrooms and ham to a coffee mug and whisk together. Microwave on HIGH for 45 seconds until eggs are almost set. Set aside for another 30-45 seconds. Make sure eggs are cooked all the way through, but be careful not to overcook the eggs.
Sprinkle some sea salt and pepper on top and enjoy!
2. Chocolate Banana SuperSmoothie
- 1 cup Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk
- 1 handful Kale or Spinach
- 1 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 TBSP Almond Butter (or nut butter of your choice)
- 1/2 Banana
- 2 scoops Chocolate Protein Powder
- Ice
When it comes to fast breakfast ideas, nothing is faster than a SuperSmoothie. Blend everything together and enjoy a complete meal full of nutrients!
3. Power Oatmeal
- 1/3 cup Rolled Oats
- 2/3 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Crushed Walnuts
- 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
Combine the oats and water in a bowl and mix together. Microwave on HIGH for 45-60 seconds. Let oats sit for another 15-30 seconds.
Add the protein powder and mix together with the oats until completely mixed in.
Add the peanut butter and mix in.
Sprinkle the crushed walnuts on top and enjoy!
4. Green Monster SuperSmoothie
- 1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Milk
- 2 cups Baby Spinach
- 1/2 Avocado
- 2 tbsp Almond Butter
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 cup ice
Another super smoothie for when you need fast breakfast ideas that are truly “on the go”. Blend it all up until smooth and enjoy!
5. Mexi-Scramble On Mixed Greens
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Bell Pepper, diced (optional)
- 2 Mushrooms, chopped (optional)
- 2 cups Mixed Greens
- 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2 tbsp Salsa
- 1/2 Avocado, sliced
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
This one may take longer than 6 minutes, but I say it still qualifies for our list of fast breakfast ideas.
Heat coconut oil in a small skillet on MEDIUM heat and add the Bell Pepper and Mushrooms. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Turn the heat down to MED/LOW and add the eggs, cumin, garlic powder and onion powder. Whisk together with the peppers and mushrooms.
Scramble the eggs a couple of times until they are cooked through.
Place on top of the mixed greens and top with the salsa and avocado (sliced)
6. Overnight Super Oats
- 1/3 cup Oats
- 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 TBSP Almond Butter (or nut butter of choice)
- 1/3 cup Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk
This has to be prepared the night before, but still takes less than 6 minutes and is a true “grab and go” option. Definitely a perfect fit for our list of fast breakfast ideas.
Mix everything together in a bowl and let sit overnight in the fridge. Take out in the morning and your ready to roll!
