Who Is Cameron Makarchuk?

Oh, hi! I'm Cam (the guy in the Mickey Mouse ears) and since 2007 I’ve devoted my life to helping thousands of people eat, move and feel better with properly designed, time efficient workout programs, lifestyle-based nutrition strategies combined with simple ways to sleep better and reduce their stress.

A little bit about me...

I’ve been a certified personal trainer since 2007 after graduating from Valley City State University with a 4-year Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science degree.

But with that said, I’m also just a regular , normal person like you.

I have the same cravings for “bad” food just like you.  I can’t keep things like chips or pastries in my house because I’ll crush an entire bag of chips or a whole dozen donuts without even blinking.

I have the same lack of motivation to go to the gym sometimes just like I’m sure you do too. I love working out, getting stronger and improving but there are definitely days where I really have to force myself out of bed in the morning.

Sometimes I don’t want to workout and think I’ll puke if I see another salad.

I’ve written about my struggle with anxiety and have had to take certain measures to cope with that on an almost daily basis.

But I’m also someone who has spent the last 14 years studying fitness, exercise physiology, nutrition, behaviour change and mindset strategies. Including a university degree in Exercise Science and multiple certifications, including one of the first Certified Online Trainers (OTC).

So now, I basically help regular people just like you, eat, move and think better so that you can feel 10 years younger, fit into your old clothes again, perform your best everyday and live an awesome life.

Basically, I provide the fountain of youth for the BluePhoenix Family 😊

What's the time commitment?

We can build a personalized program for you based on however much time you have available. But what we've found is that in order to get the best results from your training program you should have time for at least 3 workouts per week and at least 30 minutes per workout.

Can you work around injuries?

In most cases, yes. And depending on what injury you have, it may be even more important for you to get proper coaching so that you don't make the injury worse.

We've helped many people before and after knee or hip replacements, people with rotator cuff issues, low-back pain and even a young woman with Brittle Bone Disease.

How customized is BluePhoenix Transformation Coaching?


Let’s put it this way: If you only want to eat a plant-based diet, we’ll help you do that. If you want to eat Paleo, that’s what we’ll give you. If you don’t know what you want to eat, we’ll work with you to decide which plan is right for you—and then give you everything you need to be successful. 

If you have a big event coming up, we’ll help you get prepared. If you go on vacation, we’ll write you a hotel-room workout (or maybe even suggest you take the week off and enjoy yourself). If you have a shoulder injury, we’ll give you exercises to help it get better. If you want to lose weight the first few months and then add muscle the next few months, we’ll help you do that. 

You tell us what you want to do, and we’ll help you do it. In other words: It’s very customized.

When can I expect to see results?

This is completely personal and impossible to give an answer for. When you get results depends on a variety of factors such as where you're starting, your individual body, your lifestyle and your commitment to the process.

We've had members start seeing some fat loss within the first couple of weeks, and for others it takes a little bit longer. Many members report feeling more energy and less aches and pains within a couple of weeks, but that might vary for you.

What I can say with confidence is this:

If you commit to the program, keep in touch with personal coach regularly and simply trust the process, you WILL get results with BluePhoenix Transformation Coaching - I guarantee it.

How often will I hear or interact with my coach?

As often as you need to! Your personal coach is available to you whenever you need them. It's as simple as popping open the smartphone app and sending a quick message.

With that said, your coach will often reach out to check in each week or if they notice you've missed a couple workouts and might need a gentle "nudge".

How long does BluePhoenix Transformation Coaching last?

In order to ensure you're getting the absolute best results possible, we have a 12-month minimum commitment. Remember, we're playing the long game here so that you're set up for success for life.

After the initial 12 months, we'll continue to coach you for as long as you need us. Most Transformation Coaching members enjoy having someone they trust design their training and nutrition program so much they stay on for 2 or 3+ years!

Another benefit of Transformation Coaching is our members never see a price increase - you're locked in at the lowest rate for as long as you're an active member! Even more reason to get started right away before rates go up.

I don't have access to a gym - do I need one?

Nope. Having access to a full gym can definitely add some variety to your workouts, but we've designed effective training programs for many people that choose to workout at home.

And if you'd like to add some exercise equipment to your home gym we can help you decide how to do that in the most cost-effective way, no matter what your budget or space is.
